Episode 5

On this week’s podcast Kendra and Dany talk about the various incarnations of Star Trek and the massive subtext involved, and discuss the lack of maintext. As always, we have the strong female character of the week, the Dollhouse Minute, and we discuss what we are watching, including Veronica Mars, Arrested Development, Guiding Light, and Los Hombres de Paco from Spain.

Next week: In depth episode anaylsis of episodes 1-6 of Popular.

  1. Awesome episode. :-) I agree with the StarTrek comments, but I also quite like it anyway. :-) Really looking forward to the commentary on Popular, that show definitely didn't get enough attention while it was running.

  2. Great podcast again you guys.

Gay characters in canon Trek are kinda hard to find. The most we've gotten in canon is probably on DS9 though, with the Dax/Kahn kiss as mentioned, but also with all the mirror universe shenanigans with the Intendant.

You have to read Susan Wright's "Dark Mirror" books which are also set in the mirror universe. And it ain't just subtext. Especially if you're a Seven of Nine fan.
